What more could you ask for that an iPhone 6, except if it were plated in 24k gold? Not for everyone, but for the people that enjoy the slightly ostentatious, plating your mobile device with your favourite previous metal may be the thing for you. Currently available are 24k gold, 18k rose gold, and platinum 🙂 Available in these precious metals are several different finishes, like this one in polished 24k yellow gold.
There are companies out there that are charging thousands for these phones, but we’re not sure why, it’s not like the housings are actually made of gold; although the plating is 7microns thick. 7 microns, that doesn’t sound like much, but it is. This plating is thick enough that the first order of business when we receive the parts is going over the rear housing with a magnifying glass to clear all of post holes and make sure that all of the orifice diameters are still wide enough for clearance of such things like buttons, SIM tray, and that the screen still fits lushly as it should. In fact, this plating is so thick that the phone will be cold to the touch almost always.
Polished gold is one of the most beautiful sights there is.
